In this class, you will learn how to safely use simple hand tools such as rasps, files, carving gouges, hammer and stamps to create surface textures and chip-carving patterns. We will also learn how to use milk paint for various colorations and learn sophisticated sanding and finishing techniques on wood. By the end of the class, we will turn your many small sample pieces into displayable items like refrigerator magnets, wall hanging decorations, brooches or buttons to wear.
